Each week we highlight some of the best tech deals for UK business – use this in conjunction with our buyers guides and quote review service to make sure you are getting the best value for your business.

Why don’t we sell hardware ourselves? The traditional distribution channel is broken and consumers now get better deals than most businesses can through traditional distribution channels on all but the most specialist of equipment. While the best of the online etailers do a great job on price and distribution, they aren’t so hot on advice or technical support.

While we are mostly a service business these days, we can still spot a deal when we see one and we curate this weekly deal sheet to highlight some of the best tech deals in the UK. If you have specific requirements for volume purchases or if you need help planning your IT spend, do get in touch and we’ll see if we can work together. If you are having problems locating suppliers for specific products, let us know and we can point you in the right direction. Remember, we’re not looking for the cheapest kit around, but the best value for your business.

Storage

Samsung 860 Evo 500GB SSD – £70.81 plus VAT @ eBuyer

SATA 6Gb/s Interface
2.5 inch form factor
Sequential Read: Max. 550 MB/s
Sequential Write: Max. 520 MB/s
5 Year Warranty

Fast SSD drives are great for speeding up an older desktop or laptop, or just put in an enclosure and make an external drive. With no moving parts like magnetic storage, solid state drives can withstand the rigours of life on the road much better than magnetic storage. And at these prices, it makes a lot of sense to replace any failing magnetic drives with SSD.

Android Tablets

Early Black Friday Deals – 25% off selected Android tablets on Amazon

While Black Friday isn’t supposed to be until the end of next week, many retailers are jumping the gun and trying to spread purchases over a longer period. This makes a lot of sense – ramping up to cope with a massive traffic increase on a single day is a pain and the shopping experience isn’t great for the consumer. There will no doubt be a few good tech deals on the day, but this extension of the sale is good news for businesses. Now you have time to plan some purchases and get approvals.

One of the better deals currently on Amazon is 25% off selected Android tablets. Often tablets are used in the field, at trade shows and in the office for managing presentations and training sessions. If you aren’t buying volumes, these deals can be a good chance to pick up a few units at a decent price. Some highly rated Huawei models and a Samsung Galaxy Tab are included in this offer, so well worth a look.

Security Software

Anti-Virus Software – Various offers @ Groupon

Groupon might not be the first place you would look for tech deals, but there are occasionally some good offers – like these Anti-Virus and Internet Security deals.

Even if you have a multi-license deal in place, there’s always new bits of kit being purchased that end up with odd license renewal dates to cover or there’s the boss’s home computer or some other bit of kit that needs covering. Most companies end up with a few off-book anti-virus products for a variety of reasons. When renewals come around, you can get stung for full price if you just click on the link. However, smart buyers know one or more of the Internet Security/AV vendors will always be running an introductory offer, so there can be substantial savings to be had. Groupon currently has offers for Symantec, McAfee and AVG anti-virus and internet security products – including a 10 device McAfee deal for under a tenner. These tend to get snapped up pretty quickly, so if you have some renewals coming up, grab this now.
